Summer Time in Madison, NH

Wednesday, June 8th, 2011

It seems hard to believe, but Summer will be here in less than two weeks!
Silver Lake is located in the town of Madison, NH. and has been rated one of the cleanest lakes in New England.  On a clear day, you have sweeping views starting at Mt. Chocorua, panning north all the way to Mt. Washington.  Makes you feel like you are in the Alps!
Madison is a quiet town that borders the more popular town of Conway/North Conway.  Madison is what I like call a sleeper town, not on everyone’s radar.  When the Mount Washington Valley comes to mind, most people think of North Conway, Bartlett and Jackson.  These are all great towns and offer their own attributes but, to me, there is nothing like being on Silver Lake Madison on a hot Summer’s day.
If you would like to learn more about this great spot that’s just minutes from North Conway and all of the Mount Washington Valley attractions, pick up the phone and give me a call…I will be happy to tell you all about it!

To Sell or Not to Sell…

Tuesday, March 22nd, 2011

I have a few neighbors in the North Conway area. One of them I will refer to as Ted. Ted has had some rough times this past year and has decided to walk away from his home because he can no longer afford the mortagage. It was not an easy decision but one he pondered for quite a while before acting on his choice to give up his house and move away. Chances are you may hear of, or know, a couple of Teds yourself. He is not alone and we are seeing people like him more frequently. With a few exceptions, there is little he could have done. However, I want to talk about those exceptions. (more…)

Looks like lots of people will be joining us to ring in the New Year. Traffic has picked up through North Conway village

and the sidewalks are full of people coming in and out of the shops.

We are here, and we’re working. If you are in the neighborhood, stop by and say hello.

Steve’s White Mountain Scenic View Photos

Friday, November 12th, 2010

Today’s shot is of Cathedral Ledge in North Conway.
What a great morning to be on top of the Valley!  These photos show the morning sun burning off the fog below.  This is one of those times when you are in the right place at the right time and wish you had one of those monster cameras (like the person next to me) and years of training to truly capture just how magical it really was.  It looked as if the Valley below was smoldering from a forest fire left unchecked.

View from Echo Lake

Cathedral Ledge is located in North Conway and as you can see, provides an overlook to most of Mount Washington Valley.  From the village of North Conway, this is only about a five minute drive.  The “hike” to the overlook is maybe 50 yards at the most.  This has got to be the best pay-off for such a short walk.  There is even a live web-cam: http://www.neclimbs.com/index.php?PageName=webcam provided by NE Climbs, for climbers to check conditions before heading up.   I have been at the top of this ledge when out of no where, a climber pops thier head over the edge to make his/her summit…this will definatly freak you out when it happens.  Make sure not to throw anything over the edge for this reason!

If you would like directions to this look-out spot, give me a call at Pinkham Real Estate, or just stop in to our office as we are only about 10 minutes away.

The view from Jackson Highlands

Sunday, November 7th, 2010

If you’re a fan of dramatic mountain views, the homes in the Jackson Highlands neighborhood never disappoint. Here’s a shot taken from a cell phone camera this morning. If it looks this good on a device this ill suited for photography, you can imagine how pretty it is in person. I never get tired of looking at Mt. Washington!
