I have a few neighbors in the North Conway area. One of them I will refer to as Ted. Ted has had some rough times this past year and has decided to walk away from his home because he can no longer afford the mortagage. It was not an easy decision but one he pondered for quite a while before acting on his choice to give up his house and move away. Chances are you may hear of, or know, a couple of Teds yourself. He is not alone and we are seeing people like him more frequently. With a few exceptions, there is little he could have done. However, I want to talk about those exceptions. (more…)
Looks like lots of people will be joining us to ring in the New Year. Traffic has picked up through North Conway village
and the sidewalks are full of people coming in and out of the shops.
We are here, and we’re working. If you are in the neighborhood, stop by and say hello.

We’ve had our first snow, and winter is in the air. The ice skating rink is up in Schouler Park.
And Pinkham Real Estate is just across the street. If you’re in the area, stop by and say hello.

Do you know where in the White Mountains Ed Parsons took this photo?
Cathedral Ledge is located in North Conway and as you can see, provides an overlook to most of Mount Washington Valley. From the village of North Conway, this is only about a five minute drive. The “hike” to the overlook is maybe 50 yards at the most. This has got to be the best pay-off for such a short walk. There is even a live web-cam: http://www.neclimbs.com/index.php?PageName=webcam provided by NE Climbs, for climbers to check conditions before heading up. I have been at the top of this ledge when out of no where, a climber pops thier head over the edge to make his/her summit…this will definatly freak you out when it happens. Make sure not to throw anything over the edge for this reason!

Clue: it is located near one of the region’s many ski areas and has a directional name,
If you’re a fan of dramatic mountain views, the homes in the Jackson Highlands neighborhood never disappoint. Here’s a shot taken from a cell phone camera this morning. If it looks this good on a device this ill suited for photography, you can imagine how pretty it is in person. I never get tired of looking at Mt. Washington!
